Hey there Creator! Welcome to MISSION 2! We expect that you’ve learned a lot in your previous mission, and because of that hard work we now have a job for you working on the good stuff.

It’s time to make your first creature!

 

We’ll pause a moment to celebrate…….

AND we’re back.

So, before you pick up your pencil, it’s important here to think of all the possible things that a creature could be. Does a creature have ten toes or four? DO they have toes AT ALL? Could a creature have an umbrella for an arm or silly string for legs? There are endless possibilities for making a creature, so how could we POSSIBLY just make one right away??

Though we have no doubt in your endless creativity (why do you think we hired you?) we at Creature Corps would NEVER leave our Creators without a little help and inspiration!

So, for the first step of this mission, explore the CREATURE GALLERY tab at the top of the page. CREATURE GALLERY is our prIde and joy. In it you’ll find different images of creatures created by different creators all over! Some are humanoid, and some are far from it. Look at the limbs, the size, and what materials the creatures are made of.

Choose at least two of your favorite creatures from the gallery. They don’t need to have a direct relation to the creature that you make, but we want to know your favorite! Once you’ve chosen your favorites, save the images to submit to the GOOGLE CLASSROOM.

Then, you can get to work creating your creature! We want to leave this open ended for you, so pick your favorite way to create. However, keep in mind that there is a big mission after this one, and we are on a time limit. We recommend drawing, Photoshop drawing, or small collage.

As you create your creature, think about how the different body parts and attributes you choose help your creature survive. Does the fur protect it from the cold? Does having spoons for hands help it catch fish? Write all these attributes down as you work.

After you create your creature, submit it, the 2 artworks you found in the Creature Gallery, and the attributes of your creature to the FORUM.

In order to advance to MISSION 3, everyone in your group must be finished making their creature. Finish super duper early? Create a second creature!

ALRIGHT CREATOR--Here is a recap of your instructions for MISSION 2:

 

1. Go to the CREATURE GALLERY and explore the different creatures

2. Find at least two pieces of art (the creatures)that you love and save those to Google Classroom.

3. Fully inspired, create your creature!

4. Write down the attributes of your creature -- how the different parts you gave it helps it function

5. Submit the information on the 2 pieces of art you found, your creature, and your creatures attributes

6. Wait until everyone in your group is finished -- make a second creature while you wait

7. Move onto MISSION 3
